Minaret Said Bai
The minaret, built in 1855, is another widely known monument of Khiva. It was originally intended for one of the highest minarets of the entire city. In the mid-19th century, Muhammad Amin Khan ordered the construction of this minaret and the neighboring madrasah.
Pakhlavan Mahmud lived in the XIII century, and was a poet from simple artisans, also famous for his ability to heal people. He is revered as the patron saint of the city of Khiva. The mausoleum is a pilgrimage center where believers pray at his grave.
In the eastern country, the market is not only a place for buying and selling, but, above all, a place for meetings and negotiations, a source of latest news and gossip. Here, in ancient times, people could not only buy goods, but also play backgammon, chess, listen to beautiful music and poems by oriental poets. Smiling and friendly sellers are happy to communicate with customers, not only wanting to sell a product, but just talk. “.
