Ichan Kala
Kunya-Ark
“Kunya-Ark”is located in the inner city of Khiva Ichan-Kala in modern Uzbekistan. Before the overthrow of the Khiva Khan by the Bolsheviks in 1920, KunyaArk served as one of the Khan's residences. The existing KunyaArk complex was restored at the beginning of the 19th century
Muhammad Rahim Khan Madrasah
"Ichan Kala"In ancient Khiva, the city was divided into two parts: Ichan Kala - the inner city and Dishan Kala - the outer city. Ichan Kala is surrounded by defensive walls with an original architectural ornament. The walls of Ichan-Kala were built in the 5th-6th centuries. BC. from clay and over time have been reconstructed several times. There is an interesting legend about Ichan Kalu, according to which the city arose around the well, which was dug by Sim, the son of the biblical Noah. According to another ancient legend, when the prophet Muhammad built Medina, he used clay from the places of Khorezm.
Muhammad Rahim Khan Madrasah- In the eastern part of the main square, near the Kun Ark Citadel, there is the Muhammad Rahim Khan Madrasah. The madrasah was built in 1871 and is considered one of the largest educational institutions in Khiva. Muhammad Rahim Khan II went down in history as an enlightened and wise khan. During his reign, art and science flourished. He himself wrote poetry under the supposed name of Firuz. Among all its buildings, the personal pride was the Madrasah Muhammad Rahim Khan Madrasah, which later received his name.
The minaret Kalta-Minar
The minaret Kalta-Minar - is a beautiful Symbol of the old city, an unfinished monument of the nineteenth century. The idea of the architect is staggering. The base of the building drops to fifteen meters under the ground with a diameter of 14 meters at the base and a height of 30 meters.
Tash-Khauli Palace
The palace complex in Khiva is the main palace of the Khiva khans. The palace located in the eastern part of Khiva was rebuilt by Allakulikhan. The construction of the palace took about 8 years, from 1830 to 1838.
Islam-Khoja Minaret
“Islam-Khoja Minaret”
- a minaret in Khiva, located in the center of the Ichan-Kala citadel, part of the Islam Khoja complex, along with the madrasah of the same name. It is the highest building of old Khiva, its height is 56.6 meters, and with this indicator is the second highest minaret in Central Asia.
Juma Mosque
The mosque was built in the 17th century, and now this monument belongs to the oldest mosques of Khorezm. The Juma Mosque occupies a rather large area measuring 55x46 meters. It is located along the main streets connecting the eastern and western gates of Ichan-Kala.
